October 7, 2026: The Rotary Club of West Ottawa is proud to continue its longstanding support of the Caldwell Family Centre with a $1,500 contribution from our Community Service Committee.
RCWO members Rochelle Fleming and Erin Ueffing recently had the opportunity to visit the Caldwell Family Centre, where they were warmly welcomed by Community Support Worker Zine Eddine Bensmail and given a tour of the Centre and its facilities.

Rochelle Fleming presents a $1,500 contribution from the Rotary Club of West Ottawa's Community Service Committee to Zine Eddine Bensmail of the Caldwell Family Centre.
Rochelle presented Zine Eddine with a cheque for $1,500 from RCWO's Community Service Committee, continuing our club's support of an organization that has been helping people in our community for many years.
Caldwell Family Centre works every day with people and families affected by poverty. The Centre offers food programs, clothing assistance, social and recreational programs, access to computers and the Internet, employment support, and help connecting people with other services they may need.
But a list of programs doesn't really capture what we saw during our visit. We had the chance to meet some of Caldwell's hard-working volunteers, see the Centre in action and smell the wonderful hot lunch being served that day. There was a real sense of people looking after one another.
We were also very happy to hear that Caldwell would welcome volunteers from WIN, our West Ottawa Interact Club. We're going to explore ways our young Interactors can get involved and help out. Stay tuned!
RCWO has supported the Caldwell Family Centre for a number of years because we believe strongly in the work they do. Poverty affects people in our own neighbourhoods, and organizations like Caldwell are there every day providing food, practical help, connection and a welcoming place to turn.
Thank you to Zine Eddine and everyone at Caldwell for taking the time to show us around, and especially to the staff and volunteers who keep all of this work going. We were very glad to visit and even happier to continue supporting you.
