March 17, 2026: What began with two people determined to help has grown into something much larger. Through Canada Cuba Care Connection (4C), Wendy Pyper has been gathering medical supplies in Canada and ensuring they reach healthcare providers in Cuba, where shortages of even basic items can affect patient care. Since 2021, the initiative has raised close to $35,000 and delivered nearly 2,800 kilograms of supplies: practical, hands-on support that continues to make a measurable difference.

When Wendy first connected with the Rotary Club of West Ottawa, she came as a guest and speaker. Her work resonated with members, leading to conversations about how the Club could support and strengthen the initiative. Over time, that connection deepened. Wendy’s work was recognized with a Paul Harris Fellow Award, and she became increasingly involved in Club activities.
Today, Wendy is a member of RCWO, contributing through International Service and helping extend Rotary’s reach through her ongoing leadership of 4C. Her journey reflects a broader truth about Rotary: meaningful service often begins with one person’s commitment and grows through shared purpose and collaboration.
