November 23, 2025: A tropical escape in November — yes, please! Twenty-six Rotarians and friends gathered at Aquatopia Water Garden Conservatory in Carp for a warm and lively Social & Recreation event. Surrounded by lush greenery, koi ponds, and sunshine under the glass roof, we enjoyed lunch together and heard a fascinating history of the venue from our host Nick, who also shared his personal Rotary connection through his work at Rotel.
Our Social & Recreation luncheon took place at Aquatopia Water Garden Conservatory, a beautifully curated indoor botanical venue located in Carp. For those who haven’t visited before, Aquatopia is a unique blend of greenhouse, event space, and water-garden centre. Sunlight pours in through the soaring glass ceiling, illuminating tropical plants, koi ponds, and warm pathways that make even a November day feel like a mid-winter holiday.
Our host Nick welcomed us warmly and shared a comprehensive and engaging history of Aquatopia: how the business grew, evolved, and became one of Ottawa’s most distinctive destinations. He also surprised us with a personal Rotary connection: through his past work at Rotel, he witnessed firsthand the positive impact Rotary has on families navigating medical challenges.
It was a wonderful afternoon of fellowship, laughter, learning, and community — everything that makes our club special. Thank you to everyone who joined us, and to Nick for his generous hospitality.
