Some of you may wonder what the Soc & Rec committee do...here is a snapshot of past activities and some upcoming events as told by Ron Doll, Chair of Soc & Rec:

Our first events in 2019 were a wine tour and tasting in September and the first Oktoberfest in October. Both of these continue to be popular activities with the members and their guests.

The pandemic slowed down these in-person fellowship activities in 2020 but in the summer and fall of 2021, we pivoted and resumed planning and holding outdoors events such as Happy Hours on various patios, guided walks at Mud Lake, and pizza and beer at a food trailer.

In 2022, we started visiting Ottawa's various museums and added Bike to Brunch to the list of events. This year, 2023, started with a New Year's Levee, we celebrated St. Patrick, visited some of the attractions in Almonte and enjoyed a day at a member's home in the Rideau Lakes area. As the year ends, we have a day at the races planned for Rideau Carleton Raceway.
